What is Hernia Scan?
A hernia scan is an imaging test, typically using ultrasound, to detect and assess hernias. It helps identify the presence, size, and location of a hernia, which is when an internal organ or tissue pushes through a weak spot in the surrounding muscle or connective tissue. This scan is commonly used to evaluate inguinal (groin) or abdominal hernias.
What will this scan show?
The scan checks the abdomen or groin for hernias, assessing size, location, and type (inguinal, umbilical, etc.). It helps diagnose hernias, especially when not easily palpable or visible, and investigates symptoms like bulging or discomfort.
